Republic County USD 109 School Calendar

The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 at Republic County USD 109 is August 13, 2026. Kindergarten begins on August 14, 2026, and Preschool begins on August 17, 2026.

Spring Break is scheduled from March 15 through March 19, 2027. Students return to school after the break according to the district calendar.

Christmas Break begins on December 21, 2026, and continues through January 1, 2027.

Winter Break follows the district's holiday break and runs from December 21, 2026, through January 1, 2027. Students return on January 5, 2027.

Thanksgiving Break is scheduled for November 25–27, 2026. There will be no school during these dates.

The last day of school for students is May 18, 2027. It is also the end of the fourth grading period.

Labor Day is observed on September 7, 2026. There is no school on this day.

The first grading period (First Nine Weeks) ends on October 9, 2026.

The second grading period ends on December 18, 2026. Students are dismissed early at 11:30 AM with no lunch served.

The third grading period ends on March 12, 2027, which is also a teacher professional development and work day with no school for students.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for October 14-15, 2026, and February 24-25, 2027. Students do not attend school on the designated conference/work days.

Students return to school on January 5, 2027, following Winter Break.

Yes. Teacher Professional Development days are scheduled on August 5-7, August 10, August 12, November 2, January 4, January 18, March 12, April 19, April 20, and May 20, 2027. Several of these dates are no-school days for students.

Teacher Checkout/Workday is scheduled for May 19, 2027, immediately following the last student attendance day.
