Huntley Community School District 158 Calendar

The first day of school for students in grades 1–12 is August 19, 2026. Kindergarten starts on August 20, 2026, and Early Childhood begins on August 21, 2026.

Winter break runs from December 21, 2026 through January 4, 2027. Students return to school after the break on January 5, 2027.

Christmas break is part of the winter break. School offices are closed on December 24 and December 25, 2026 for the Christmas holiday.

Spring break is scheduled from March 29 through April 2, 2027, with no school for students during this period.

Thanksgiving break takes place on November 26 and November 27, 2026. There is also no school on November 25, 2026 due to a floating holiday.

The last day of school is May 28, 2027 if no emergency days are used. If all emergency days are used, the last day will be June 7, 2027.

Yes. Major no-school holidays include Labor Day on September 7, 2026; Columbus Day on October 12, 2026; Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 18, 2027; Presidents Day on February 15, 2027; Memorial Day on May 31, 2027; and Juneteenth on June 18, 2027.

Yes. Institute days with no student attendance are scheduled on August 17–18, 2026, January 4, 2027, and April 23, 2027. Additional non-attendance days occur on February 12 and March 26, 2027.
